LIFE+ Nature and Biodiversity
The specific goals of LIFE+ Nature and environment will be:
- Contributing to the application of the European policy and laws on nature and biodiversity, in particular Directives 74/409/CEE, included at both local and regional level, and supporting the subsequent development and execution of the “Red Natura 2000”.
- Contributing to the consolidation of the knowledge for development, valuation, tracking and testing of the European policy and laws on nature and biodiversity.
- Supporting the conception and application of plans and instruments for the tracking and testing of the environment and biodiversity and the factors, pressure and reactions that have an influence on them, in particular with the achievement of the goal to stop loss of biodiversity in the Community from now to 2010 and the threat that climate change is for environment and biodiversity.
- Favouring a better governance on environment, promoting the participation of the parts involved, including non- governmental organizations, when asked about the policy and laws on nature and biodiversity, and its application.
